Jazzy Fire Sounds - Soundwave Firedrive Autobot Jazz
Because it’s a sick, nasty banana hammock that slaps my opponents.
Broadside, Titanic Mariner
Broadside, Titanic Mariner, cause why the hell not!
Possibly a ban to Here’s the Thing. With Nitro Boosters gone from the format, I think Pierce-dedicated decks are less degenerate and have a lower NPE ceiling. Thus, the safeguard Jazz + Strat provides might actually be a detriment to the format going forward.
This is Why We Can’t Be Friends - ATP Highbrow, ATP Seaspray, Brawn, Demolisher + Anti Air Battery
I’ve been using a version of this deck for awhile, normally with ATP Legend Starscream, and it has always done pretty well. Due to some real life things going on, I also really didn’t have time to truly explore the Classic format prior to the 1-day event, so when I took 2nd, it seemed right to try it out in month long event. .
I haven’t really explored ATP-6 much, both during playtesting and once it was dropped, but I would say I am looking forward to trying out Nemesis Prime and Warpath.
: From a pure looks perspective, I’d pick ATP-5 Galvatron. The art on both sides just looks really cool, and I know that one day I will pick him up and try him in a deck.
No comment, for the sake of not wanting to another fruitless debate.
Classic Hits on the Fives (Off-Road Patrol + Seaspray)
Originally I was going to run the pierce version of the deck, but pierce winning the one-day worried me that the meta would be ready for it. This version beats any pierce deck and any narrower orange deck reasonably easily, and has game against most blue decks (but notably, not against Jazz)
I haven’t figured out the best use for him, but it’s nice to see Warpath get a playable card (and that 7 cost slot for non-Wrecker autobots has been a problem for a while)
Probably Astrotrain, I like both of his alt modes
At the moment, I’d like to see a few of the top decks get taken out, simply to guarantee we get variety in the format. Jazz, Powertrain, and then some of the characters who have too many HP for their star value - Doubledealer, Soundwave, Seaspray. I was a little bummed we didn’t see any of the decks that had tournament success in 2019 doing well (bugs, OPBL, Galaxy Prime) although that may change with Blaster’s new strategem
I played 3-Wide Wreckers with Impactor/Cpt. Impactor/Wheeljack and No Matter the Odds
I choose this deck because I have yet to play wreckers in a monthly event. This off season event was the perfect time, but I also predicted a lot of blue decks which I was wrong about!
Settle Some Scores!
Sky Lynx would make an excellent spotgloss I think! Get that big dragon side in that pretty form.
My first was the banning of Nitro Boosters, but that was already there! Otherwise I am not sure if I have a card that I believe needs to be hit right away, but one archetype that might need to be closely looked at is Insecticons. Proving themselves to be a tournament winning deck in the last one day, the archetype has a lot of undiscovered potential with the consistency and power of flips it can have in a deck might need to be watched and checked.
I played 4 wide seekers including Thundercracker, Skywarp, Dirge, and Thrust (thanks CY!)
I really enjoyed the teams/tribes within the game so I'm just working my way through all of them and trying to play a different deck every tournament.
Warpath looks really good! For battle cards I love the art for Thrumming Blade.
ATP-3 Ransack, Hungry for Battle, because he is the embodiment of the orange aggro playstyle. These are so difficult to get that this is a hard question.
I like the Nitro Boosters ban. I think the Jazz stratagem and Powertrain strat are a little too much for classic. Classic is my favorite format. The different sideboard rules add a challenge to this format that I like
I was able to get it to 40 orange pips with 40 cards. If you know anything about me, you know that’s my dream deck. Plus, I just love Soundwave in orange shells.
Bouncy Cloud Tank!
Nemesis. The art is just so badass.
I can’t think of any since it’s pretty new. I really enjoy the format as it feels really fresh and interactive.
Doubledealer/Rung/Jazz + Here’s The Thing
With End Hostilities and Belligerence gone, I thought rung would be a good guard against Bold/Tough decks. I picked Jazz to defend against pierce. With 10 stars left, I chose the best option at the cost…Doubledealer. He does it all. Merc with crazy stats, draw, defense vs. untaps, and a solid bounty.
Take No Prisoners
Ironhide - I think he is an awesome character, and his artwork would look cool as a spot glass. I know the question isn’t for full art battle cards, but if that’s still up in the air…Take No Prisoners would be hot.
I’ve heard/read concern over Here’s The Thing, and if any changes were going to be I think that is probably the right direction. Beyond that, I’d say let it ride and see what ATP-6 does to the format first. There were so many different decks, many of which I didn’t expect to see, and it was awesome. Shoutout to Madsleepy (Gear Up) and Butter (Cosmos)…those decks are cool.
Herald Bois - ATP -5 Galvatron + Scourge + Cyclonus
It was the team I had the most fun with in testing
Astrotrain because he’s an absolute blast to play
Not particularly. It’s not my favorite format to play just because I feel a little restricted as far as team building but it’s still tons of fun
